Presenting your home in salable condition is important! Buyers will scrutinize every centimeter of a property – believe it! They will!
Buyers are picky creatures. It’s in their DNA. They can’t help it. Sometimes if the home inspector comes back and says that the HVAC system needs to be replaced, it’s not as major, in the eyes of some buyers, as a 2″ stain in the carpet. It has happened! CRAZIER THINGS HAVE HAPPENED!
There is a ton of stress that comes with choosing and purchasing a home. Roller-coaster emotions and the dread of a huge financial commitment can make buyers skiddish. It’s easy to understand. Buying a home and taking on a 30 year loan are MAJOR life decisions. It’s no wonder the slightest imperfections can send a good, qualified buyer right out the door and on to another property.
It makes good sense to put your best foot forward and present
your home in the best way possible. It takes effort but effort pays off.
Usually when we think about “staging” a home, we conjure up images of renting furniture and hiring an interior designer (thanks, reality television) but staging could be as simple as just cleaning up. Decluttering the closets is a simple fix but it makes a home show so much better. That’s staging on a budget!
Here’s a great infographic on home staging from Moshells.com that covers home staging on a budget. Good info!
